Mother’s Day spending expected to reach $34 billion

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - Mother's Day is just right around the corner, and Americans are planning to spend big on their mothers.

According to the National Retail Federation, a little over $34 billion is expected to be spent on this Mother's Day.

On average, consumers plan to spend more than $250 on gifts and celebrations. Flowers continue to be the most popular gift, followed by cards, special outings.

Mother's Day spending totals are up from last year. The 2025 amount is close behind the record of $35.7 billion spent on 2023.
