Canada Prime Minister matching US tariffs on automobile imports

(KYMA, KECY/NBC) - Canada's Prime Minister announced the country will be matching President Trump's tariffs.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said a 25% tariff will placed on most auto imports into Canada.

He stated the tariffs placed by the Trump Administration is a "tragic end" to 60 years of free trade between Canada and the United States.

"Our retaliatory tariffs that we previously announced in response to the US, United States' other tariffs will remain in effect you know we take these measures reluctantly, and we take them in ways that is intended and will cause maximum impact in United States minimum impact here in Canada," said Prime Minister Carney.
