Twitter whistleblower to testify in front of congress Tuesday
(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - A Twitter whistleblower is expected to testify Tuesday before congress about allegations of security and privacy vulnerabilities at the company.
On the eve of that testimony, lawmakers sent Twitter more than a dozen questions about its security practices. They want to know how the site secures personal data and guards against insider threats and foreign intelligence operatives.
Senate Judiciary Committee members also want the social media giant to respond to allegations it intentionally misled regulators.
They also invited CEO Parag Agrawal to testify alongside the whistleblower, Peiter "Mudge" Zatko, who is Twitter's former head of security
Twitter has pushed back on Zatko's allegations, accusing him of painting a "false narrative" of the company
Also on Monday, Twitter pushed back at a new attempt by Elon Musk to walk away from their acquisition deal over a purported multi-million dollar severance payment to Zatko.
Twitter called Musk's move “invalid and wrongful.”
