Nike, Vanessa Bryant partner up to honor the late Kobe Bryant
(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - Nike is partnering with NBA legend Kobe Bryant's widow, Vanessa Bryant, to honor her late husband's legacy.
In a statement, the company said "the collaboration will inspire a new generation of athletes and encourage youth participation in sport.”
The sports apparel giant added "together with Vanessa, we hope to honor Kobe and Gigi by championing a new generation for many years to come.”
The first shoe installment in the Nike-Vanessa Bryant partnership will be the Kobe 6 Protro "Mambacita Sweet 16" -- in honor of gigi bryant.
