Unemployment rates nearly back to pre-pandemic levels

(KYMA, KECY/CBS) - One area in Indiana has the lowest unemployment rate in the United States but some businesses are offering incentives to join the workforce.

Elkhart, Indiana's unemployment rate is just under 1% and a five-star dive bar is including higher pay and signing bonuses to bring in more workers.

"We need servers, bartenders, cooks and we're eager to fill all those positions," said Kaitlyn Curtis, manager of the five-star dive bar.

The nation's economy grew in February, adding nearly 700,000 jobs and an unemployment rate dropping to 3.8%, bringing those numbers almost back to pre-pandemic levels.
