Los Angeles gas price average reaches $5

(KYMA, KECY/CNN) - AAA shared a report of gas prices in Los Angeles reaching a $5 average.

The company says the $5.01 average was hit on Thursday, March 3, which is a big jump of eight cents in a single day.

Experts are saying prices are going up due to the war in Russia and Ukraine.

The national average is currently $3.72 and may continue to rise.
