Shortage of fireworks as July 4th approaches

(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - Phantom Fireworks is warning customers they could find themselves empty handed on July 4th if they don't stock up on fireworks now.

The company says a supply shortage that also impacted sales last year is expected to make its way back in 2021 after sales boomed in 2020 since so many professional displays were canceled.

Many of those displays are coming back this year but Phantom is advising those who still want to celebrate with fireworks at home need to start buying now.

The company says shortages are due to shipment challenges in the global market. Most of which come from China.
