DoorDash to acquire Instacart for $17 billion

(NBC, KYMA) - DoorDash delivered some major business news Thursday morning as the company said it's buying Instacart for $17 billion.

Customers will be able to order groceries and retail items from around 150,000 stores through DoorDash's delivery network.

DashPass and Instacart+ members will also pay one membership fee instead of two.

Instacart thrived in the COVID-19 pandemic, but faced more competition from Amazon and Walmart's grocery services in recent years.
