McDonald’s announces $8.5 billion investment in upgrades

(NBC, KYMA) - McDonald's is aiming for major upgrades.

The fast food chain announced an $8.5 billion investment to improve the quality of its franchises.

The money will go towards better-tasting food and drinks, updated restaurant designs and equipment, and an improved employee training program.

This comes as McDonald's tries to rebound from slower sales in recent years.

McDonald's locations nationwide will be gradually upgraded from now through 2036.
