Apple celebrates 50 years in business

(CBS, KYMA) - A tech giant is turning 50 Wednesday as Apple is celebrating five decades in business.

To mark the milestone, Europe's largest Apple museum is opening in the Netherlands. It features over 5,000 Apple products, including its early machines from the 1970s, the original Macintosh, and the iPhone, which reshaped global communication.

"Step-by-step we'll tell them things about how the logo developed, about the design language they use. So, I hope when people leave this museum, they know more about Apple and if they use an Apple product they look differently at that product," said Ed Bindels, the museum's founder.

Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak co-founded Apple on April 1, 1976, working out of Jobs' family garage.

It's not the second-largest company in the world, with more than two billion active devices worldwide.
