Federal judge schedules in-person hearing for White House media access

(NBC, KYMA) - A federal judge will soon take up the issue of White House media access.

Judge Timothy Kelly has just scheduled an in-person hearing regarding CNN, MS NOW, and Politico's motion for a preliminary injunction in their White House media access case.

The hearing will take place in federal court in Washington, D.C. Thursday, October 8, at 11:00 a.m. Eastern time.

That is also the day when the temporary restraining order imposed by Judge Kelly restoring the news organizations' access to the White House is set to expire.

On Wednesday, the White House removed CNN from the press pool for President Donald Trump's trip to Texas and Oklahoma Thursday.

CNN was previously scheduled to fly on air force one and also provide on-the-ground coverage of President Trump's visit to Denton, Texas and Durant, Oklahoma.

The move further escalates a feud with the cable network after a federal judge blocked the administration's push to restrict its media access.
