California attorney general holds press conference on mail-in voting

(KYMA, NBC) - California Attorney General Rob Bonta held a press conference Tuesday morning.

According to NBC News, this was in regards to the security of mail-in voting, upcoming election deadlines, and and a state Department of Justice publication on voting access for people with disabilities.

"Election season is upon us, and with just three weeks until Election Day, now is the time to make a plan to vote," said Attorney General Bonta. "In California, every active, registered voter receives a ballot in the mail, and thanks to a major Supreme Court victory we recently secured, Californians can continue voting just as they have before – whether by mail, ballot drop box, early, or in-person on Election Day. Your voice matters — don't miss your chance to use it!"

Last week, Bonta held a press conference in Sacramento "as part of his efforts to help voters understand their rights and know key election deadlines," the California Attorney General's Office said.

The Attorney General's Office said Californians have until Monday, October 19, to register to vote, but if people need to register to vote after the deadline, they can register in-person through Same Davy Voter Registration.
