Arizona Lt. Governor debate underway

PHOENIX (KYMA) - The debate is on for the Arizona Lt. Governor's race ahead of the November 3 midterm election.

The 2026 general election will be the first time voters can choose a Lt. Governor for Arizona after Prop 131 was passed, with 55% of Arizona voters supporting the measure back in 2022, according to AZ Clean Elections.

Former State Sen. Sine Kerr (R-District 25) is squaring off and Angela Harrolle Mohan (I) in Wednesday's debate.

However, former Mesa Mayor John Giles (I), who is Gov. Katie Hobbs' (D) running mate, is not participating in the debate.

Meanwhile, Clean Elections said Lisa Castillo (I) did not say whether she would participate in the debate.

Former State Sen. Kerr was chosen to be Rep. Andy Biggs' (R) running mate, while Castillo is Risa Lombardo's (G) running mate and Mohan is Teri Ann Hourihan's (NOL) running mate.
