Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction candidates participate in debate

PHOENIX (KYMA) - The debate is on for two candidates running for Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee (R) is facing off against Teresa Leyba Ruiz (D) in the debate, taking place Tuesday, with both candidates sharing why they're the best choice for the job.

They are running to replace Tom Horne, who is the current Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction.

There are two write-in candidates also running to be the Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction: Gerard Davis (G) and Stephen Neal Jr. (NOL).
