Democratic senators on effort to end war in Iran

WASHINGTON (KYMA, NBC) - Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), along with his Democratic colleagues in the U.S. Senate, held a press conference Monday.

According to a press release, the press conference was to announce a batch of newly filed War Powers Resolutions in order to force a vote to stop the war in Iran.

"Americans want Washington to improve their lives, not to drag us into another endless conflict in the Middle East that is putting American service members at risk and driving up costs at home. Congress has the power to stop this chaos and hold this president in check, and that’s exactly what we should do. Then Washington can focus on what the American people need, starting with lowering costs," said Sen. Kelly

Along Kelly, the following Democratic senators also participated in the press conference:

  • Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.)
  • Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.)
  • Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.)
  • Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.)
  • Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.)
  • Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.)
  • Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Ma.)
  • Sen. Andy Kim (D-N.J.)
  • Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.)
  • Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.)
