Mike Lindell held in civil contempt for non-payment

(NBC, KYMA) - A federal judge in Washington has held MyPillow founder Mike Lindell in civil contempt for failure to pay $56,369 to Smartmatic in connection with what U.S. District Judge Carol Nichols called "frivolous" claims against the voting software company.

Lindell was originally ordered to pay the more than $50,000 in January of 2025, but he has failed to do so.

Judge Nichols wrote, "Lindell fails to establish an inability to pay that excuses his noncompliance."

Also, the judge found Lindell has paid for legal services in other proceedings since the sanction was entered in this case.

He further noted that Lindell's gubernatorial campaign in Minnesota made a purchase of $187,000 in "Mike Lindell Books."

Lindell now faces a fine of $500 for every day he fails to pay Smartmatic the full $56,369 judgement.
