President Trump to address the nation about war with Iran

6am Coverage

(NBC, KYMA) - President Donald Trump will deliver an address to the nation Wednesday night on the war with Iran.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posted on social media Tuesday, writing that the president will "provide an important update on Iran" at 9 p.m. Eastern.

Leavitt didn't provide more details about what President Trump is expected to say.

Earlier that day, Trump told reporters he expects the U.S. to "leave" Iran within two or three weeks, adding that Iran does not have to make a deal with the U.S. for the war to end.

The war with Iran is now entering its second month.
