Investigation underway for Greg Bovino

MINNEAPOLIS (NBC, KYMA) - The Hennepin County Attorney's Office is investigating Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino, and other federal agents for "potential unlawful conduct," during Operation Metro Surge.

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty announced Monday the "Transparency and Accountability Project (TAP)."

The online portal allows the public to share photos, videos and descriptions of incidents that may involve unlawful conduct by federal agents.

So far, the TAP Team, made up of county prosecutors and a civilian investigator, is looking into 17 incidents, including from January: Bovino's actions near Mueller Park and another incident outside Roosevelt High School.

"Make no mistake, we are not afraid of the legal fight, and we are committed to doing this correctly. Operation Metro Surge caused immeasurable harm to our community. Our community deserves transparency and accountability," Moriarty expressed.

A portal that was used to collect evidence in the Renee Good and Alex Pretti shootings has been closed after receiving more than a thousand submissions.
