Fired FBI agents sue Trump Administration

(NBC, KYMA) - Several former FBI agents are suing the Trump Administration after they were fired for kneeling during protests following the death of George Floyd.

The lawsuit, filed on behalf of 12 ex-agents, claims the Justice Department (DOJ) unlawfully terminated the group earlier this year, based on the perception that they were "not affiliated with President Trump."

The suit explains that in 2020, the agents were confronted by a crowd who shouted at them to take a knee.

In an effort to de-escalate the situation, the agents complied and then reported their actions to their leadership who found no wrongdoing.

The former agents are asking that their jobs be re-instated.

The suit lists FBI Director Kash Patel, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, the FBI and the DOJ as defendants.
