President Trump to meet with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy as U.S.-Russia tensions rise
(CNN, KYMA) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he's meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump this week as U.S.-Russian tensions rise.
He says they'll talk on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly in New York.
Their meeting comes as President Trump says he will defend the Baltic states and Poland from Russia if necessary. That's after Russian incursions into NATO airspace.
Those include flying jets over Estonian territory Friday and drones over Polish and Romanian land earlier this month.
Article V of the NATO Treaty says an attack on one member state is an attack on all of them.
It requires alerting the U.S. Security Council and that group is holding an emergency meeting Monday at Estonia's request.
