Vice President J.D. Vance hosts ‘The Charlie Kirk Show’
(NBC, KYMA) - Vice President J.D. Vance hosted "The Charlie Kirk Show" Monday as a tribute to the late conservative activist.
Vice President Vance kicked off the show with a tribute to Kirk and described his meeting with Erika Kirk after her husband's assassination last week.
"The thing is, every single person in this building, we owe something to Charlie. He was a joyful warrior for our country. He loved America. He devoted himself tirelessly to making our country a better place," Vance expressed.
He also praised Kirk for the role he played in Donald Trump's election, and blamed his murder in part on "left-wing extremism."
The man accused of fatally shooting Kirk, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, is in police custody. According to the FBI, he has been linked to evidence found at the scene through DNA sequencing.
He faces likely charges of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, and obstruction of justice in connection with the shooting last Wednesday at Utah Valley University.
