President Trump’s big, beautiful bill gains House approval
WASHINGTON (KYMA, KECY/CBS) - President Donald Trump's proposed bill was passed in the House of Representatives Thursday morning.
"The hard working families of America are hungry, hungry for this kind of change. Take power away from Washington, give it back to the people, and watch what happens. Great things," said Rep. Steve Scalise, House Majority Leader.
Trump's big, beautiful bill proposes the following:
- boosts border security and ice enforcement
- increases defense spending
- Extends his 2017 tax cuts, which includes an increase in the child tax credit
- No taxes on tips and overtime pay
The bill is expected to be signed on July 4.
