Paramount agrees to pay $16 million in Trump lawsuit settlement

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Paramount has agreed to pay $16 million to settle a lawsuit brought by President Donald Trump.

The suit alleges a CBS "60 minutes" interview last year with then-Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris was deceptively edited.

Paramount is the parent company of CBS.

Per the agreement, the $16 million will go to President Trump's future presidential library.

There will be no statement of apology or regret from CBS, and Paramount with release entire transcripts of interviews they do with presidents in the future.

The president's legal team, in statement, called this another win for the American people.

CBS News did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
