No Kings protests underway across the country

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Opponents of President Donald Trump's administration started coming out the streets to rally in hundreds of cities Saturday.

Hundreds to thousands marched in Downtown Atlanta and beyond Saturday, calling for immigrant protections and rejecting authoritarianism.

"No Kings" protests are scheduled in at least 15 Georgia cities, including Atlanta, Athens and Marietta.

In Greenville, South Carolina about 5,000 as demonstrators gather at Unity Park to support Veterans and protest against the Trump Administration's policies.

The protest date corresponds with a significant military parade that President Trump planned in Washington, D.C. For the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.

Residents of Miami, Broward and Palm beach also started going out Saturday and protest against the president's policies.

So far all the protests have been relatively peaceful although Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier had a strong warning about repercussions if the protests do turn rowdy.

Protests are also happening in Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Largo, Tampa, New Port Richey, Palm Harbor and other cities. The protest in Tampa brought out thousands.

In addition, protests are happening in Philadelphia, Indianapolis, Durham, North Carolina and Oklahoma City.
