ICE detains family of Boulder attack suspect
(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - There are new developments surfacing in the fiery attack on people who were marching in support of Israeli hostages in Boulder, Colorado Sunday.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are taking the family of the suspect into custody.
Officials confirmed that the alleged attacker, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, was in the United States on an expired tourist visa, but did have an open asylum claim.
It's still unclear what the immigration status of his family is.
Secretary Noem posted a statement to "X" Tuesday saying ICE detained Soliman's family.
"I am continuing to pray for the victims of this attack and for all of their families. Our thoughts and our prayers go out to all of them. And I want them to know that justice will be served," Noem said in the post.
