FBI social media post may have violated Department of Justice policy

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - A photo the FBI posted on social media of a Wisconsin judge arrested for allegedly obstructing the detention of an undocumented immigrant may have violated a Department of Justice policy, according to former Attorney General Eric Holder.

This policy was put in place during his time at the Justice Department not to release photos of defendants unless it serves a law enforcement function or is already part of the public record.

Holder said that the release of the photo is meant to intimidate other judges.

The FBI has not responded to a request for comment.
