President Trump names Dan Bongino as Deputy FBI Director

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - President Donald Trump has named his pick for FBI Deputy Director.

The president shared a post to Truth Social Sunday night announcing that he has selected Dan bongino to serve as Deputy FBI Director.

Bongino is a former U.S. Secret Service agent who unsuccessfully ran for a U.S. Senate seat in Maryland, and for congressional seats in Maryland and Florida. However, the 49-year-old author later gained fame as a conservative media personality.

In his social media post, President Trump referred to Bongino as a man who has "incredible love and passion for our country."

The announcement comes just days after Kash Patel was sworn in as director of the FBI.
