Rep. Adam Kinzinger considering presidential run in 2024

Ill. (KYMA, KECY) - Rep. Adam Kinzinger is weighing his political future after announcing last week he was retiring from the House.

The 43-year-old Republican from Illinois says he is considering running for Senate, governor, or even president in 2024.

But Kinzinger, a vocal critic of former President Trump, could face an uphill battle within his party.

He says he will probably make a decision about a bid for governor or Senator by January.

Though he may have already hinted at his choice.

During his retirement announcement, Kinzinger said he feels now is the time to move on from "Congress."
