LOS ANGELES (KYMA, NBC) - California leaders are holding a congressional field hearing in Los Angeles Monday.

According to a press release obtained by NBC News, the hearing examines "the unlawful detention of U.S. citizens and immigrants by federal immigration agents."

The press release says the hearing will bring together the following leaders:

  • Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.)
  • Mayor Karen Bass (D-Calif.)
  • Oversight Democrats
  • Los Angeles Members of Congress
  • Immigrant advocacy groups
  • Los Angeles leaders

Last month, the press release says Rep. Garcia joined Mayor Bass, Los Angeles City Council leaders and immigrant rights leaders to call for a "congressional investigation into reports of unlawful detainment and alleged abuse of U.S. citizens and immigrants by federal agents without warrants or probable cause."
