California Gov. Gavin Newsom to consider presidential run

(CNN, KYMA) - California Governor Gavin Newsom is teasing a potential 2028 presidential run.

When asked Sunday if he would seriously consider running, Gov. Newsom said "Yeah, I'd be lying otherwise."

However, Newsom went on to explain that his focus now is on the midterms and helping Democrats regain control of the house of representatives.

He also said President Donald Trump's presidency will "de facto end" if Democrats succeed in the 2026 midterms.
