Ukrainians living in San Diego react to Presidents Trump and Zelenskyy’s confrontation
SAN DIEGO (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Ukrainians living in the U.S. were stunned by Friday's clash between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In San Diego, Ukrainians said they felt defeated when the deal between the U.S. and Ukraine didn't go through.
They thought the Oval Office meeting was peaceful.
"President Zelensky is a mature person and he was treated like he's a toddler. I thought that was extremely disrespectful and extremely inappropriate. It was embarrassing to watch," said Inna Kanevsky, a professor at Mesa College.
"Now, it's almost like foreign policy just got blown up! To me this has been World War three for from the minute that and you know the Latvia send us first airplane or from the minute, you know that U.S. gave us javelins, which were during President Trump's administration, right from the minute that American volunteers have been dying in Ukraine."
