Sen. Dianne Feinstein might be muscled out of re-election
(KYMA) SACRAMENTO, Calif.- Senator Dianne Feinstein has been mum as to whether or not she'd seek a second term. She assumed office 21 years ago, and if she ran for re-election, she'd be looking at a sixth term where she would be 91 years old at its start.
Previously, democrats in the state have shown deference to the sage of the senate. But now it looks like she'll be muscled out of the race…Â
The most visible potential candidate is Congresswoman Katie Porter. She is a solidly left democratic congresswoman that has keeps winning re-election in a swing district. Her humor and vocal persona have made her a frequent guess on late night political talk shows.
She has 7 million dollars sitting in the bank as well, about what is needed to run a serious race for senate in the state. She's been telling donors she wants to put up a strong showing for the race.
Also watch out for Adam Schiff. you may know him from the Trump hearings. He'd be the establishment democrat in the race.
And supporters of Bernie Sanders are encouraging Ro Khanna to run. The congressman cuts more of a left libertarian bend, frequently challenging the political power structure. KYMA will keep you updated as this exciting race rolls on.
