Rep. Adelita Grijalva addresses DHS funding

WASHINGTON (KYMA) - Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.) shared she wants to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) not related to ICE and immigration enforcement.

Rep. Grijalva spoke at a press conference Wednesday afternoon at a House Democratic private meeting.

The agencies would include the Transportation Security Administration, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Coast Guard.

Immediately after, the congresswoman said she proceeded to the House floor to sign the petition.

"House Democrats, stand firm. We will not give ICE another penny while this lawless agency goes unchecked," Grijalva declared.

Wednesday marks the 33rd day of the partial government shutdown since funding for DHS expired last month.
