Former Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema heckled during public event in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY (NBC, KYMA) - A public event in Utah turned tense when former Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) was interrupted by protesters.

Shouts erupted Friday as former Sen. Sinema and Gov. Spencer Cox (R-Utah) took the stage at an economic summit in Salt Lake City.

Two men, interrupting less than five minutes apart, yelled accusations tied to a lawsuit involving Sinema before being escorted out.

Gov. Cox called the outbursts a sign of today's divided climate while Sinema briefly acknowledged the disruption and moved on with her remarks.
