PHOENIX (KYMA) - Gov. Katie Hobbs (D-Ariz.) has ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered to half-staff Wednesday.

According to a press release, this is to honor former Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, who died at the age of 59.

"I'm saddened by the passing of former Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich. I'm thinking of his family and loved ones during this difficult time," Gov. Hobbs wrote in a post on X.

Brnovich served as the state's Attorney General for two terms, the press release says.

He also served as the director of the state's Department of Gaming as well as a federal and Maricopa County prosecutor, according to the press release.
