YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - In Friday's Decision 2024 Report, we highlight the two candidates running for Yuma County Recorder, David Lara And Incumbent Rick Colwell. Sharing why they decided on running.

Colwell says his background with law enforcement has prepared him for this role before he was appointed back in 2022 and says he has learn any things along the way.

“Even though I am Recorder, it is not my office, I have been entrusted to run it and you have to follow procedures, you have to follow policies, its not like you do it your way," said Recorder Rick Colwell.

For Lara he has over 20 years of experience in investigating irregularities in the voting system.

“And I was the go to person we the Department of Justice, the Attorney General’s Office and the U.S Sherriff’s Office with investigations as far as voter fraud and irregularities," said David Lara.
