Katie Hobbs appears on PBS in one on one interview

Hobbs has faced widespread criticism for not debating her opponent Kari Lake

PHOENIX, Ariz. (KECY, KYMA) - Katie Hobbs appeared on PBS in a one-on-one interview Tuesday.

The Democratic nominee for governor has made abortion rights a pillar of her campaign.

As Arizona has flip-flopped between a total abortion ban and a 15-week abortion ban over the last few weeks

After the supreme court overturned Roe v. Wade in the summer.

Hobbs says she would look to restore abortion access in Arizona beyond 15 weeks.

And that the government should not be involved in women's healthcare decisions.

“Abortion is healthcare. That should be left to medical providers who have the expertise. Abortion decisions should be between her and her doctor,” Hobbs said.

Hobbs would not commit to any specific limits on abortion.

The Citizen Clean Elections Commission announced that lake will appear in her own 30-minute interview on KTAZ this Sunday.
