HRC scales efforts to mobilize voters for 2022 midterm election
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) PAC launched major efforts to mobilize voters and turn out Equality Voters.
For further context, this is in support pro-equality, pro-choice, and pro-democracy candidates across Arizona.
In addition, HRC hosted a campaign kick-off event on Saturday in Mesa, AZ. Several people spoke at the event including:
- The HRC Arizona State Director Bridget Sharpe
- A 15-year-old transgender activist
- Several HRC-endorsed candidates.
Furthermore, they spoke with HRC members about extremist politicians' escalated attacks on LGBTQ+ people, and how they can be involved.

Not only that, HRC will support trainings and events, on-the-ground staff and infrastructure, volunteer and partner engagement, and endorsement.
All things considered, Sharpe had this to say:
“Extremist politicians and judges in Arizona have no plans to halt their attack on our rights – from LGBTQ+ rights to voting rights. Last week’s decision to uphold an outdated and dangerous abortion ban from over 150 years ago is just another sign of how far they’re willing to go. Here in Arizona, we have seen time and time again that when we mobilize our communities to vote, we elect pro-equality, pro-democracy, and pro-choice leaders. We will not allow radical politicians to sabotage our future or our democracy – lives are on the line.”
