Bloomberg says he will release 3 women from nondisclosure agreements

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KYMA, KECY) - Former New York mayor, and current Democratic Presidential contender, Mike Bloomberg says his company will release three women from nondisclosure agreements.

The candidate's media company has identified three women who signed NDA's in recent decades after complaining Bloomberg had made inappropriate comments.

Bloomberg previously refused to release the women, because the agreements were signed consensually. On Friday, his campaign announced he had changed his mind. All three woman will be released from the NDA's if they wish.

Senator Elizabeth Warren, (D) Massachusetts, sharply criticized Bloomberg during Wednesday night's debate for his use of the agreements. She also went after him for his treatment of women.

The Washington Post reports, Bloomberg LP has settled a number of lawsuits involving allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination.

In his statement Friday, Bloomberg vowed to stop using NDA's to resolve similar claims.

I’ve decided that for as long as I’m running Bloomberg LP, we won’t offer confidentiality agreements to resolve claims of sexual harassment or misconduct going forward. This goes the same for our campaign.

"I recognize that NDAs, particularly when they are used in the context of sexual harassment and sexual assault, promote a culture of silence in the workplace and contribute to a culture of women not feeling safe or supported," he added.
