AZ AG candidate Abe Hamadeh visits Yuma

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The youngest GOP candidate for Arizona attorney general is in Yuma to further his campaign around the state.

Abe Hamadeh is one of six candidates running for the attorney general (AG) Arizona seat.

Hamadeh’s goal on day one of being AG is working with the state legislature and governor to classify the cartels as terrorist organizations.

He says this is due to the high amount of fentanyl that crosses over to our country.

Trump endorsed 31-year-old Hamadeh is a former Maricopa County prosecutor and Army Captain and Intelligence Officer who returned from deployment close to a year ago.

Hamadeh was deployed in Saudi Arabia for 14 months.

Now, he feels as though the country he left prior to his deployment isn’t the same.

“I no longer recognize our country and I think right now we sense that sense of urgency that if we don’t turn this ship around, we won’t have a county any longer," said Hamadeh.

Hamadeh blames both democrats and republicans for serious issues happening around the state and country regarding the border crisis, gun control, and Roe v. Wade.

He says as AG he will change the status quo of politicians so that Americans can fully trust and believe in their government before it’s too late.

He was at the Yuma Golf and Country Club on Thursday for a get-together to meet his local supporters.

Saying he feels strongly about what he can get done in the Yuma area if he’s voted AZ AG.

“Yuma is on the frontlines of so many of the issues facing Arizona and the country," said Hamadeh. "The border, the election, integrity issues.”

Arizona’s primary election is coming up in about two weeks on Aug. 2.
