Prosciutto-Wrapped Figs with Lemon Ricotta and Hot Honey
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - In this episode, Chef Jonathan shows you how to make a very easy but luxurious appetizer for your next one night.
Ingredients:
For the Figs
• 12 fresh figs
• 6 slices of prosciutto, cut in half lengthwise
• Olive oil, for drizzling
• Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Lemon Ricotta
• 1 cup ricotta cheese
• Zest of 1 lemon
• 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
• 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
• Salt, to taste
For Finishing
• Hot honey, for drizzling
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Figs
• Rinse the figs and gently dry them on a paper towel.
• Cut a small slit in the top of each fig to create a pocket for the prosciutto.
3. Wrap the Figs
• Take a half slice of prosciutto and wrap it around each fig, securing it in place. Overlap the prosciutto slightly for better coverage.
Arrange the wrapped figs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
4. Season and Drizzle
• Drizzle olive oil over the figs and season with salt and pepper.
5. Bake the Figs
• Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the prosciutto is crispy and the figs are softened.
6. Prepare the Lemon Ricotta
• In a bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, honey (if using), and a pinch of salt until smooth and creamy.
7. Serve
• Once the figs are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them
This is a very nice appetizer to pull out for wine night with friends, but with that unique, elegant touch.
