Suspected trafficker causes fatal crash in Florida

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. (NBC, KYMA) - A suspected fentanyl trafficker is under arrest after a high-speed crash in Seminole County left two people dead.

Investigators say Seminole County deputies tried to stop the suspect's vehicle Tuesday morning, but the driver sped away. Deputies say they did not pursue because of public safety concerns.

Police say the suspect was traveling at speeds of more than 100 miles an hour before slamming into another vehicle in Casselberry.

The two people inside the car were killed, and the suspect was taken into custody at the scene, and was taken to the hospital.

The Casselberry Police Department is investigating the crash as a traffic homicide, and officials say criminal charges are pending.
