Tennessee officer in critical condition following crash during Vice President Vance’s motorcade

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (NBC, KYMA) - A crash involving two law enforcement vehicles escorting Vice President JD Vance's motorcade in Tennessee has left one officer in critical condition.

It happened Friday night in Maryville, near Knoxville, where Vice President Vance was in town for a fundraiser.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a Maryville police officer on a motorcycle was involved in a crash with a state trooper.

The motorcycle officer was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition. In addition, the trooper was also taken to a hospital, but there's no word on his condition.
