Authorities investigate small plane crash in Phoenix

PHOENIX (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A small plane crashed in Phoenix Saturday. According to the Phoenix Fire Department, the crash happened in the northern part of the city at around 11:00 a.m.

The plane crashed into the carport of a commercial building near the Phoenix Deer Valley Airport.

The pilot was able to get out of the plane on his own and suffered minor injuries. He was evaluated at the scene and refused to be taken to the hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
