Multiple people in Los Angeles injured after a vehicle crashed into a crowd

LOS ANGELES (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A vehicle crashed into a crowd in Downtown Los Angeles Sunday, leaving multiple people injured.

The incident was reported at around 3:15 p.m. along 12th Street in the popular Downtown Shopping District.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), at least nine people were injured, including three minors, after a minivan crashed into the crowd.

Two 23-year-old women were released against medical advice while four other women, aged 54, 65, 30, 23 were taken to a hospital.

LAFD affed that three boys, aged eight, 11 and 17, were also taken to a hospital.

The vehicle could be seen trapped near the entrance of the Santee Alley, and a section of 12th Street was blocked off as LAFD assisted with the crash.

It's unclear what led to the incident.
