Two injured in 32nd Street crash

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Police Department (YPD) is investigating a crash which left two people injured.

In a press release, the crash happened Sunday at around 10:30 a.m. in the area of E. 32nd Street and Cielo Verde Drive.

YPD says a 2017 Subaru Forrester, driven by a 87-year-old man, was heading westbound on E. 32nd Street, but "failed to yield" after "making a left-hand yield onto Cielo Verde Drive" and crashed into a 2002 Dodge Durango, driven by a 39-year-old man, traveling eastbound on 32nd Street.

The driver of the Subaru Forrester was taken to Onvida Health, along with the passenger of the Subaru Forrester, an 80-year-old woman. The driver of the Subaru was further flown to a Phoenix area hospital in serious condition, YPD says.

However, YPD did not report any injuries from the Dodge Durango.

While neither speed nor impairment factored in the crash, the investigation is ongoing. If anyone has any information regarding the crash, call YPD at (928) 783-4421 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.
