Minnesota officials and NTSB provides update on plane crash
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Officials with the Brooklyn Park Fire Department (BPFD) and the NTSB held a press conference Sunday to discuss Saturday's plane crash in the city.
"We are within a 24-hour operational period. Electricity was re-established to the homes...early this morning, about 1:00 a.m., and there are no other concerns for safety or utilities for the remaining homes in the neighborhood," said Chief Shawn Conway with BPFD.
The plane came down on top of a home, which was destroyed in the accident.
One person was believed to be on board the plane at the time of the crash, and one resident who was inside the home at the time escaped with no injuries.
"Our focus right now is to document the accident site, and then get the aircraft recovered for further examination. So...that's still in process," said Tim Sorensen with the NTSB.
