Deputy in California killed in crash after chase

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A brief pursuit ended in a deadly crash involving a California deputy Monday afternoon.

This happened at an intersection in Victorville.

A San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputy was killed in the incident.

Details about pursuit and subsequent crash were not immediately available.

A black sedan in the intersection appeared to have front-end damage with airbags deployed inside the car.

A procession of law enforcement officers escorted the deputy's body to the Coroner's Office in San Bernardino.
