Medical status of man who was hit after moving into traffic

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Police Department (YPD) says the man who was hit after moving into traffic is still in a Phoenix hospital.

YPD says he's in critical but stable condition as of Monday afternoon.

The incident happened Friday on 32nd Street and Avenue 8E near the Walmart in the Foothills.

YPD says the man, 36, stepped or jumped into traffic when he was hit by an 18-year-old woman driving a 2020 Jeep Wrangler.

The man was airlifted to a Phoenix hospital with serious injuries. No other injuries have been reported.
