Three vehicles collided into each other, resulting in one death
IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Per a press release by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), three vehicles crashed simultaneously, resulting in one driver's death.
Accordingly, the crash occurred on Sunday, November 20 at approximately 2:30pm.
Straightaway, a 26-year-old male of Cathedral City, CA drove a 2016 Kia Forte southbound on Dogwood Road, north of Ralph Road.
At the same time, a 57-year-old male of Brawley, CA drove a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Dogwood Road, north of Ralph Road.
In addition, the Chevrolet driver has a passenger, a 56-year-old male from Fresno, CA.
Another Brawley citizen, a 54-year-old female drove a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado in the same direction as the other Chevrolet driver.
For reason unknown, the Kia driver lost control and entered the northbound lane, resulting in the three-way crash.
As a result, the Kia driver died on scene.
The Imperial County's Coroner's Office (ICCO) then responded to the scene and took the body.
The ICCO have yet to release the identity of the victim as they have a pending next of kin notification.
Meanwhile, the male Chevrolet driver sustained minor injuries and did not go to the hospital.
However, the female Chevrolet driver, also sustaining minor injuries, traveled to the El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC) via ambulance.
While all drivers wore their seat belts, and no sign of DUI was present, the crash remains under investigation.
